Martin Loibl

Partner


Martin is a Partner at WTS and a member of the Executive Management Board (EMB). In this role, he is responsible for the International Tax & Permanent Establishments (ITP) and Tax & Accounting Services (TAS) Business Units, comprising approximately 180 employees in total.He joined WTS in 2008 and has extensive experience advising German mid-sized companies and internationally operating groups on tax matters. His professional focus is on international tax law, particularly the tax aspects of cross-border operational projects and permanent establishment matters. He primarily advises companies in the mechanical and plant engineering, automotive supplier and IT sectors. He has also provided tax advice on several multi-country outsourcing projects. Further areas of expertise include international employee assignments and mobile working. In addition, he advises on the development of related policies, the design and modelling of processes, and their implementation in IT tools.Martin is the author of numerous professional publications and a regular speaker, particularly on international tax law. He has also served as a lecturer at various universities and other higher education institutions.After completing vocational training as a tax clerk, Martin studied law at the University of Bayreuth, supplemented by studies in business and economics with a focus on finance and taxation. During his legal traineeship, he worked as a business lawyer at an international multidisciplinary law firm in Munich and Beijing. After being admitted to the German Bar, he continued working for the firm in Nuremberg and Shanghai. Following further specialisation in international tax law, he joined WTS in Munich and, together with colleagues, established the ITP Service Line, which he headed until joining the EMB.
