Law studies in Berlin and Munich. Obtained the degree of Dr. jur. in 1983, his doctoral thesis on International Tax Law was awarded the Mitchell B. Carroll Prize. Admitted as lawyer in Munich and Paris.
Research assistant to Prof. Klaus Vogel, University of Munich. Director International Taxation at Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm GmbH 1984 to 1990, at Siemens AG 1990 to 2006, at Nokia-Siemens-Networks GmbH & Co. KG 2006 to 2008. Since October 2008 Managing Partner of WTS France Selarl, Paris.

Co-Founder of WTS, Munich. Member of International Fiscal Association, member of the board of the Bavarian Branch of International Fiscal Association and member of VDMA Working Group on Taxation of Large Scale Projects.

Co-Author of the commentaries on Double Taxation Conventions "Vogel/Lehner, DBA" and "Klaus Vogel on Double Taxation Conventions" and "C.S.Mathur/Görl/Sonntag, Principles of Model Tax Conventions and International Taxation". Author and lecturer on the subject of International Taxation.
